Consultation on Admission Arrangements

All admission authorities are required to formally consult if they propose to make any changes to their admission arrangements for the following school year, or at least once every 7 years, even if there have been no changes during that period.

We are currently consulting on our admission arrangements which apply from September 2026 in relation to Park Junior School and are proposing the following changes:

  • Addition of children of school staff criteria to align with other schools that are part of Northampton Primary Academy Trust.

The consultation period runs from 11th November to 31st December 2024. Should you wish to make any comments about the proposed arrangements you can do so by email to admin@npatschools.org .

The proposed admission arrangements for 2026-27 can be found at the bottom of the page.

Admissions for Park Junior School

Northampton Primary Academy Trust welcomes children to join schools in our Trust both at the start of their school life (the academic year during which they turn five years old) and as a transfer from another school either at the beginning of an academic year or at any point during an academic year.

Pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) will be allocated a place where the school is named as being the appropriate provision.

All applications for admission must be made through:

North Northamptonshire Council www.northnorthants.gov.uk/school-admissions

Where applications for admission exceed the number of places available, the following criteria will be applied, in the order set out below, to decide which children to admit:

After the admission of pupils with an EHCP that names the school, priority for admission will be given to children in the order shown below:

  1. Looked after children and all previously looked after children
  2. Children with a sibling continuing at the school or The Avenue Infant School at the time of admission of the child
  3. Children who attend The Avenue Infant School
  4. Children who live closer to the preferred school than any other school
  5. Other children
