Tuesday 23rd May

What a great start to our trip! Our coach journey was very smooth going with the children behaving superbly. We were so impressed! Once we arrived, we worked as a team to get all the cases and boxes into the hall and then could tuck into our long awaited lunch. We sat on the lawn in front of the hall looking at the views and the stunning countryside.

In the afternoon we went on our stepping stones walk. It was a great experience walking through the fields with the sheep in with the hills rising up around us. We saw lambs and calves and the children did a great job of walking through the countryside.

Once at the stepping stones, we went across in groups enjoying the thrill of going from stone to stone with the water flowing around. The walk back along the other side of the river needed careful navigation of a rocky ground but again the children did really well.

After our walk back, we had a good amount of time playing on the field and then enjoyed our first meal.

This evening we split into two craft groups and made some pipecleaner superheroes and beaded ghekos.

We are going to bed after a fabulous first day and look forward to another great day tomorrow with hopefully some more sunny weather.

The children have been fantastic and adapted really well to their first day away. They are looking forward to going to bed in their rooms and having a good night's sleep before the adventures of tomorrow.
