What a fabulous first day we have had!
Our journey up to Ilam was very smooth and we arrived with no children becoming travel sick, which was a great start. Once arrived, we enjoyed some free time on the field and then lunch. Incredibly, from nowhere, a hail storm disrupted our lunch but the children were so sensible as they found their coats and we moved into the hall to finish our lunch.
In the afternoon, we went to The Stepping Stones and all the children were great going over with no problems at all. The general public who were there commented on how sensible the children were and I couldn't help but be very proud of them. We were delighted to see that the ice cream van was there so we all enjoyed ice creams before making our way back. Of course the rooms were the highlight once back and the children settled into their rooms organising who was going where without problem.
We had a hearty dinner and then split into two groups for our evening craft activities - 'pipecleaner friends' and 'Beaded Gheckos'.
Our evening finished with a hot chocolate and a lovely reflection time on how well the day had gone and how helpful so many children have been.
We are all really looking forward to tomorrow!
