Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to Park Junior School!

I am immensely proud to be the Headteacher of Park Junior School, a true community school in every meaning of the word.

Park Junior School is a two form entry school for children from Year 3-6.  We have 240 amazing pupils in the school, with a waiting list for every year group.  We are a very diverse school with 26 different languages presently being spoken.  We are committed to improvement, with our school motto being ‘Together We Make A Difference!’

The school has a long history of educating the children of Wellingborough.  It first opened for education to boys and girls back in 1873, although Park Junior School officially opened in 1968.  Our Victorian building makes us unique with its historical architecture in conjunction with the modern trappings of schools in the 21st century.

The school prides itself on meeting the needs of every single child, including those with special educational needs and those who are gifted and talented.  We have a specialist SEN Unit for children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs and support children from all over North Northamptonshire.

We have a team of highly committed staff who dedicate themselves towards the individual needs of the children.  We provide an exciting and vibrant curriculum, building upon our curriculum drivers of community, diversity and emotional awareness.  Our school values this year are perseverance, ambition, responsibility and kindness (PARK).

The school is delighted to have joined Northampton Primary Academy Trust (NPAT) in September 2022 which will allow us to achieve even greater heights working in collaboration with all the expertise NPAT has.

We believe all our children should receive excellent teaching and be able to leave our school with the academic foundations for success in the future. Alongside this, we offer our children a wide range of learning opportunities through Sport, The Arts, Drama and Technology which help to develop their creativity, confidence and well-being. Our reputation for sporting excellence is County-wide.

We had a very successful Ofsted Inspection in March 2025.  This was an ungraded inspection having been a 'Good' school since 2013.  The report is very positive and outlined all our success we have achieved since our last inspection.

We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find any information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school direct with any queries you may have.

Yours truly,

David Tebbutt (Headteacher - Park Junior School)
