Welcome back to school!

We are very excited for our learning journey to begin and to see where it takes us. 

We will be having PE on a Wednesday and Thursday this term. Wednesday will be with Pacestters and you will need to have long hair up and jewellery removed. Please come in PE kit. Thursday will be swimming starting on Thursday 17th September, for 10 weeks. Please remember no long shorts or goggles. Also you will need a coat in case it rains on the walk. 

English will begin with poetry, looking at The Jabberwocky. We will be learning about portmanteau (how to combine words to make a new one) and creating our own poems. Following this we will move on to the book Street Child by Berlie Doherty, linking this to our history area and deepening our understanding of the era. 

History this term will look at the Industrial Revolution and how it influenced life at the time and now. We also touch on life during the Victorian times. 

Science is all about Earth and Space, followed next term by looking more closely at Space and the planets. This is an amazing unit and provides a deep understanding of our solar system. We link this to English and we begin the book The Jamie Drake Equation by Christopher Edge. 

Art is a fabulous unit looking at sketching skills and learning about accurate drawings of one point perspective. We study the work of L S Lowry. 

We will continue to practice our tables on TT Rockstars and track our reading on Track My Read (new log ins will be available shortly. 

We are excited to develop our relationships and have an amazing year.
