France 15/9/2015 update 8:30pm
The most amazing of days today and hugely successful. It has been a day of new experiences and excitement and every child can be so proud of themselves. The day began with a big breakfast at 8.30am and our coach journey began to Le Mont St Michel at 9.15am. Our guide gave us a whole host of information about its history and how around 5 million people visit it every year. As you can imagine it was very busy but incredibly interesting. We had a tour of the site including the wishing well, prison and how they defended themselves during wars. We had a stroll through the shops although everything was very expensive and made our way back to the meeting point which was a canon left by the British in 1434. We had lunch back at the coach and then raced off to St Malo for a beach and ice cream afternoon. The sun shone down on us and we had a great afternoon of paddling, football, cricket, sandcastles and looking in the rock pools. We then made our way up to the shops where we found an ice cream shop with over 100 different flavours to choose from!! We arrived back at the Chateau at 7.30pm where we were greeted with a hearty meal of chicken and chips. Tuck shop has just opened and then the children will be completing their evening entertainment. The children are absolutely thriving with the range of experiences and doing the school and their families incredibly proud. Hope you are all also following the update on Twitter. Au revoir until the morning!
