Welcome to the 4LB/KY class page!
Welcome to year 4! We hope you have had a fantastic Summer break and are excited and ready for the year ahead.
The term will begin with place value in maths including learning about ordering, comparing and solving problems. Times tables is hugely important and we will continue to put a real emphasis on the children learning these.
In our English sessions we will be studying the author Roald Dahl and looking at the book James And The Giant Peach. The focus will be journalistic and Instructional writing.
Our linked learning this term is based on the topic "Battles and Raids" and involves us starting the year learning about World War 2 and then moving on to looking at Vikings after the half term break. Within this we will use maps and atlases to look at the countries that were involved and we will also look at rationing, evacuation, the Blitz among many of the other key events and changes that took place during the War.
Homework will be set every Wednesday and is due back the following Tuesday. We really appreciate your support with this.
Thank you (in advance) for all of your support. If you have any queries or questions at any point during the school year, please do not hesitate to contact one of the 4LB/KY team.
